Pedestrian Clings To Life After Being Struck By Vehicle

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Police say a 34-year-old woman is fighting for her life after she was struck by a vehicle in Pontiac.

The collision happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday on Huron Street just west of Chippewa Road. 

Police say a 21-year-old Waterford woman was heading west on Huron Street in the left lane when she struck the victim, who was standing in the roadway. Police say the victim was dressed in dark clothing and was in the roadway in a non-crosswalk area.

The victim was taken to the hospital and last reported in critical condition.

The driver was not injured. 

The crash remains under investigation.
