Police were sure they were dealing with a drunk at first

ELYRIA, Ohio (WWJ) - An early morning call to police to report a stalking pig and officers were sure they would find a drunk at the other end.

Officers at the North Ridgeville Police Department in Ohio responded to a call from a man stating that a pig was following him and he didn't know what to do.

It was just before 5:30 a.m. and cops were expecting to find an inebriated man stumbling home from the bars early morning, instead they found a "very sober male walking ... from the Amtrak train station" in Elyria. He was being followed by a pig.

"Yes, a pig," read the post on the department's Facebook page.

An officer wrangled the pig into the cruiser and took him to their dog kennels until the owner came forward. Which was about three hours later.

"Also, we will mention the irony of the pig in a police car now so that anyone that thinks they’re funny is actually unoriginal and trying too hard," read the post.
