DETROIT (WWJ) - "Drop the peddle and let's go!" It'll be a sea of pink in Detroit this week.

Mary Kay representatives are descending on the city from around the country to be part of a parade of pink Cadillacs to pay tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Crisette Ellis is the wife of Greater Grace Temple's Bishop Charles H. Ellis III, and an entrepreneur with Mary Kay cosmetics, and she's been overwhelmed by the positive response.

She says the pink Cadillacs will line Seven Mile Road right outside the church.

"Initially, I thought we would just have the local pink Cadillacs that would come and maybe from Ohio, or states that are really close, but once we put clarion call out to say we want to celebrate the life of the one and only Aretha Franklin, then everyone got on the bullhorn ...," said Ellis.

Cadillacs are coming from as far as Dallas, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska, and Florida.

The private funeral will be held at Greater Grace Temple on Friday.
