Police: Carjackers Crash Stolen Cadillac, Escape After Chase From Warren To Detroit

September 10, 2018 - 9:50 am

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for four suspects at large following a chase that ended in a crash on Detroit's east side.

WWJ's Charlie Langton reported the chase involved Warren police on the tail of some suspected carjackers.

Police said the suspects stole a white stolen Cadillac Escalade SUV in Eastpointe and then, Monday morning, tried to steal a second vehicle in the area of Martin and Schonherr Road in Warren. That's where police began pursing the suspects, continuing the chase into the city of Detroit where four vehicles -- including the Escalade and a Warren patrol car -- were involved in a crash in the area of Gratiot Ave. and State Fair.

Police were not able to make any arrest, however, as the suspects jumped out of the stolen SUV and ran away.

No serious injuries were reported.

As the investigation continues, no description of the suspects has been released.
