TROY (WWJ) - A 28-year-old woman is accused of attacking a human resources employee while resigning from a Troy company.

Police say they responded to Custom Home Health Care along Big Beaver Road last Tuesday afternoon after getting a call about an employee being stabbed with a pen by another employee.

The victim told police that 28-year-old Sakyra Ellis was resigning from the company and turned in a broken computer tablet. When Ellis was told she would have to pay $500 for the tablet to be fixed, per company policy, she "became enraged" and attacked the victim, police said, put her in a choke hold and stabbed her with a pen.

Ellis fled the scene before police arrived but officers found her driving along I-75 near 14 Mile Road, stopped her vehicle and made an arrest. She has since been charged with assault and battery.

The victim was treated for a puncture wound to her left arm.
