Police Investigating Death Of 14-Year-Old In Pontiac

They have a person in custody

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County Sheriff's are investigating the death of a teen in Pontiac. 

Authorities were called to the home on Willard Street just after 2:30 a.m. Monday on a report of a person who had been shot -- when they arrived they discovered the victim had been driven to McLaren-Oakland Hospital by witnesses at the scene. The 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

A close friend of the family telling WWJ that the teen was playing with a gun with a group of friends and fatally shot himself but police have not confirmed that story. 

People in the area telling Langton, through tears, that they know the family -- obviously distraught over the death of the teenager. 

Police took a 20-year-old man who was at the hospital into custody.
