Detroit Police Looking For Two Armed Men Who Disappeared After Shooting

(WWJ) The Detroit Police Department needs assistance locating two men wanted for opening fire on the city’s east side in an incident that left a man in serious condition.

Investigators say the incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. outside of a residence in the 5700 block of Coplin. That's where the 39-year old male victim and his friend were hanging out when they got into a verbal altercation with two suspects.

During the argument, both suspects produced firearms.

The 26- year old allegedly pointed his weapon at the victims, while the 59-year old suspect allegedly fired a shot, striking the 39-year old male.


After the shooting, both victims fled. Officers responding to the area were able to locate the injured victim and render aid. He was then transported to a local hospital where he was listed in temporary serious condition.

A barricaded gunman situation was declared. After a check of the home, it was determined that the suspects were not present. They had escaped.

Now, Detroit Police needs assistance in locating these suspects. Both are considered armed, the older man with a long gun and the younger with a hand gun.
