DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for a 14-year-old girl who apparently ran off in the middle of the night.

Police say Alexxis Tinch was last seen by her grandmother Sunday around 9 p.m. and discovered missing around 11:30 p.m. in the 17100 block of Stout Street, off McNichols near Evergreen Road on the west side. The grandmother told police that a neighbor saw the teen leave her home and get into a burgundy vehicle, unknown make and model.

This is not the first time Alexxis has left home without permission and failed to return, according to police.

Alexxis is described as 5’6” tall with a medium build and short black hair that is shaved on the sides, with reddish brown hair on the top. It's unknown what she was wearing when last seen.

Anyone who has seen Alexxis or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact police at 313-596-5700.
