Police Nab Suspects After Bank Robberies 30 Minutes Apart In Dearborn

DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police in Dearborn making a quick arrest after two banks robbed within 30 minutes Thursday morning. 

Police received a call of a robbery in progress at the Huntington Bank on Oakman at 9:23 a.m., then again a call to police at 9:48 a.m. of a robbery in progress at the Huntington Bank on Michigan Avenue. 

In both instances, the suspect was described as a female entering the bank and leaving in a white sedan.

In the first robbery, the suspect indicated that “they were watching,” and she was forced to carry an explosive device. She was given money and she left the area. 

In the second robbery, the suspect gave a note indicating the presence of an explosive device. 

A short time later police made a traffic stop of the car fitting the description and "two suspects were detained pending further investigation."

No explosive devices were found. 

Dearborn police indicate the investigation is ongoing.
