WAYNE, Mich. (WWJ) -- Police are still searching for a suspect after a bank robbery and manhunt in Wayne on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they were called just after 5 p.m. Wednesday to the Chase Bank in the area of Michigan Avenue and Wayne Road on the report of an unarmed robbery. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male with reddish colored hair, with a beard and mustache.

There was a heavy police presence in the area as Michigan State Police assisted Wayne PD with a K9 track for the suspect, but never found him.

Detectives are actively trying to identify the suspect from bank surveillance video.

During the manhunt, a subject in the area was arrested on an unrelated warrant from MSP, authorities said, but did not elaborate.

Anyone who has information on the robbery or the suspect should contact the Wayne Police Investigations Bureau, Lt. F. Carter at 734-721-1598
