Police Searching For Suspect In Fatal Detroit Hit-And-Run

A 51-year-old man was killed on Aug. 9.

DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on the city's west side.

Police say a 51-year-old man was hit and killed while crossing the street in the 11000 block of Plymouth Road around 1 a.m. on Aug. 9.

The vehicle was traveling west bound on Plymouth and is believed to be a silver compact car. Police say the car is possibly a Saturn and it sustained damage to the hood and front bumper during the accident.

Police released surveillance video of the vehicle that night in the area of Plymouth and Rutherford.

Police are urging anyone who recognizes the vehicle, or may have been in the area at the time of the accident, to contact the Detroit Police Department at 313-596-2280.
