New York Bans Gatherings of 500 People or More

 NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday a ban of gatherings of more than 500 people, effective Friday at 5 p.m.

The ban, however, goes into effect at 5 p.m. on Thursday for Broadway theaters. 

For events with seating under 500, the occupacy must be reduced by 50 percent.
