Marijuana is on the November ballot in Michigan and six candidates joined WWJ morning anchor Tom Jordan to debate the issue.

Recorded in front of a live audience Thursday, July 12 at MusicTown in Downtown Detroit, the 1st Edition of "It's Debatable with Tom Jordan" debates the potential legalization of recreational marijuana.

Marijuana dispensary owner Frank Marra said, "I think that marijuana is a safe product. It's a good product."

"What we do know right now is that there are newborns being born with THC in their systems," said Masi during the debate. Masi an addiction recovery specialist added, "as someone who has struggled with addiction let's not use the word gateway. Let's just say it gave me the training wheels for my addiction.

Also on the panel, attorney Barton Morris with the Cannabis Legal Group said, "cannabis is a drug that people use recreationally just like alcohol. It's safer than alcohol and therefore it should be regulated like alcohol."

Six candidates, two at a time, square-off against each other in a moderated format. Questions come from the moderator, the candidates themselves, and the live audience.

"It's Debatable" has been described as "a debate with a late-night talk show feel," and "controversy with a smile."
