Report: Man Who Murdered Family Inundated With Love Letters Behind Bars

December 19, 2018 - 12:20 pm

(WWJ) Reports say a Colorado man is receiving love letters in prison where he's serving a life sentence for killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters.

According to Inside Edition, dozens of the letters sent to 33-year-old Christopher Watts were released by prosecutors.

"In my heart I know you are a great guy,” wrote a woman named Candace, adding: "If you do write me back I’d be the happiest girl alive that's for sure."

Another woman who sent a photo of herself in a bikini wrote, “I find myself thinking a lot about you," while a letter from a woman named Hannah included the message: "I feel this connection to you.”

Psychologist Dr. Judy Ho, co-host of "Face the Truth," said that even the most nortorious killers have groupies who write to them, visit them, and even propose marriage.

“These women have created a fantasy life for themselves especially with their pretend relationship with these men behind bars,” she told Inside Edition. [Read more here].

Watts, who pleaded guilty last month, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without parole for the murders, as part of a plea deal that kept him from facing the death penalty. He also received a 48-year sentence for unlawful termination of a pregnancy, and 12 years each for tampering with a human body.
