DETROIT (WWJ) -- Brace yourselves. Winter is coming.

The season's first frost advisory will be in effect for most of the Metro Detroit area early Saturday from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m.

The National Weather Service says the frost will come as temperatures dip into the low to mid 30s.

Residents can expect frost on car windshields.

The NWS says the frost can cause sensitive vegitation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed by the frost if left uncovered.

Temperatures are expected to reach into the 50s later in the day. The 10-day forecast says high temps in the 50s can be expected for the next week.
