Serial Bank Robber Wanted For Crimes In Oakland And Macomb Counties

ORION TWP. (WWJ) - Oakland and Macomb County authorities are now working with the FBI as they search for a serial bank robber.

A cash reward of $1,000 is available for the tipster who can identify the man who, again, was caught on camera as he robbed a Bank of America branch in Orion Township, Thursday afternoon.

According the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the suspect walked into the bank  in the 1300 block of S. Lapeer Rd. at 4:20 p.m., and handed a note to a teller demanding money.

The robber then left with an undetermined amount of cash. No weapon was seen or implied, sheriff's officials said, and no one was hurt.

The suspect is described a white male, approximately 6’4” tall. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt, dark brown jacket, blue jeans, tennis shoes and a burgundy Carhart hat with glasses hanging around his neck. 

Oakland County detectives have determined that the suspect matches the description of a person wanted in connection with similar robberies in Shelby Township and Chesterfield Township, are they're now working with detectives in those communities as well as federal agents on this case.
