Shootout Near Ambassador Bridge Leaves 1 Man Hospitalized, 1 In Custody

DETROIT (WWJ) - A rock through a window may have been the catalyst for a shootout in southwest Detroit that left one man hospitalized and another man arrested.

Police with flashlights investigating at the scene in the pre-dawn hours Monday morning searching for a suspect in the exchange of gunfire at the corner of Howard and 25th streets reports WWJ's Ron Dewey -- near the Ambassador Bridge. 

The occupants of the Chevy Camero and Ford Fusion unloading weapons in both directions leaving casings all over the intersection. Police telling WWJ that the 25-year-old suspect stated someone threw a rock through his window and he went outside and saw a car drive off --which he followed. Shortly after the suspect and the victim exchanged gunfire. 

The 30-year-old victim was shot in the right side, according to police, and was taken to an area hospital. At this time his condition remains unknown.
