Spotify Inks Deal For Space In Downtown Birmingham

The digital music streaming service will be on N. Old Woodward

BIRMINGHAM - One of the most recognized names in digital music streaming will be heading to Birmingham. 

Spotify will be moving into an office space on N. Old Woodward whose tenants include Panera Bread. 

“We are excited to have Spotify joining our thriving downtown business and corporate community,” said Joe Valentine, City of Birmingham City Manager. “Spotify’s decision to locate in downtown Birmingham signifies the notion that our downtown is open for business particularly in light of the Old Woodward Reconstruction Project.”

It's expected that Spotify will start with about five to seven employees.

Spotify was founded in Sweden in 2006.
