State Police: 1 Killed In I-275 Rollover Crash

November 19, 2018 - 11:33 am

DOWNRIVER (WWJ) - One person has died, according to Michigan State Police, following a multi-vehicle crash along I-275.

Authorities began getting calls about a rollover accident in the area of southbound I-275 and Eureka Road, at around 5:25 a.m.; with witnesses saying one person had been ejected from a car.

Police said four vehicles were involved in the crash. There's no word on any additional injuries.

Troopers closed southbound I-275 at I-94 for a crash investigation, but all lanes reopened at around 11:30 a.m.

It's not known if weather played a factor but ice, snow and fog made for difficult driving conditions in the early hours -- slowing traffic and creating the need for extra caution on the roads.

No information was immediately released about the person who was killed.
