State Police: 16-Year-Old Boy Shot And Killed In Inkster

Police are still investigating.

INKSTER, Mich. (WWJ) -- An investigation is still ongoing after a teenager was shot and killed in Inkster Sunday afternoon.

Michigan State Police said in a tweet that a 16-year-old boy from Inkster was shot in the area of Avondale and Henry Ruff. Authorities did not say what led to the shooting.

Uniformed state troopers and K-9 units were investigating near the scene when police sent a second tweet saying the shooting had become fatal.

As of 7 p.m., detectives were still working at the crime scene and talking to witnesses.

Police are still investigating and looking for tips from the public.
