DEARBORN, Mich. (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are reminding drivers to wear their seatbelts after a traffic detail along Ford Road in Dearborn on Thursday saw more than 100 people ticketed for seatbelt violations.

MSP conducted the detail along Ford Road in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, in a several-mile stretch east of Telegraph Road. Police say they conducted 265 traffic stops and issued hundreds of citations, the majority of which were for drivers not wearing their seatbelts.

Authorities says 133 people were hit for seatbelt violations, while 35 tickets were given for speeding. 31 people were cited for having no insurance and 18 tickets were handed out for distracted driving.

"Come on now Dearborn let’s start wearing that seatbelt. It will save your life," State Police said in a tweet.

In addition to the traffic citations, police said the traffic detail also led to four fugitive arrests, but did not provide details on the arrests.
