Suspect Sought In Fatal Shooting Near Old State Fairgrounds

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police in Detroit have identified a suspect who allegedly shot and killed a man near the old State Fairgrounds.

Police are currently trying to locate 23-year-old Deontez Reese in connection with the shooting, which happened around 6:30 p.m. June 21.

According to police, the 33-year-old victim was sitting in a car with a woman in the 1200 block of West State Fair when Reese approached him and started an argument. At some point, Reese allegedly pulled out a gun, shot the victim in the face and chest, then fled the scene. The woman drove the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Reese is described as a black male with a dark complexion and 5'3" tall with a medium build. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
