Suspects Driving U-Haul Truck Sought In Fatal Shooting Along Lodge Freeway

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for two suspects after a 24-year-old man was shot dead along the Lodge Freeway service drive on the city's west side.

The shooting took place just before 4 p.m. Tuesday on the service drive between Collingwood and Lawrence, north of Chicago Boulevard.

Witnesses told police that moments before shots were fired, the victim was arguing with two suspects about debris being dumped in the alley behind his property. 

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity was not released. 

The suspects were driving a white U-Haul pickup truck with a partial plate A82 or A28.

The first suspect, who was driving the truck, is described as a black male in his 20s or 30s with a low haircut and thick eyebrows. He was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans, and was armed with a semi-automatic firearm with an extended clip.

The second suspect, a passenger, is described as a black male in his 40s or 50s, 6-feet tall with a slim build and clean shaven. He was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.

Police have no photos or surveillance videos of the suspects.
