Suspects Still At Large In Deadly Cinco de Mayo Bar Brawl

June 23, 2018 - 3:42 pm

BROWNSTOWN (WWJ) - Investigators are still trying to identify the suspects who killed another man during a bar fight at a Cinco de Mayo party.

Police responded to the Champions Sports Bar on Sibley Road, just east of Racho Road in Brownstown, around 2:10 a.m. on May 6 after receiving calls about a fight in progress.

When officers arrived, they found 50-year-old Michael Beaudrie lying unresponsive in the parking lot. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but died the next day.

Beaudrie, of Battle Creek, was with family and friends celebrating the holiday, according to police. He and his brother were exiting the bar at closing time, police said, when a verbal altercation ensued between the brothers and at least two other patrons from the bar. The verbal argument turned physical in the parking lot, police said, which led to Beaudrie's death.

Police have no descriptions of the suspects.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip anonymously to 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
