DETROIT (WWJ) - A police SWAT team conducted a raid at a home on Detroit's east side as part of an investigation out of Oakland County.

The situation unfolded early Friday morning at a home on Savage Avenue, off Van Dyke Avenue just south of 8 Mile Road.

Police from West Bloomfield, Novi and Detroit executed a search warrant at the home. While WWJ's Charlie Langton was on the scene, officers in riot gear went into the house and brought at least one person out in handcuffs.

"Guns are drawn; the neighbors are nervous," said Langton.

Police are said to be looking for a suspect who committed major crimes in Oakland County.

A woman who only wanted to be identified as Nicole was actually inside the home when officers broke down the door.

"There was over a dozen, OK? It was a lot, OK? There was kids in the house, but they did a good job of not being all rowdy and stuff, so that's the good thing," she said.

Nicole identified the man led away by police as her fiancee, but said he's not a suspect in any crime.

Loretta Taylor, who lives across the street, was shocked at the police presence in her neighborhood.

"A whole squad, it looked like Army men, surrounded the house and I'm just like, I'm flabbergasted," she said. "The street's all blocked off, this big truck in the way. Just everything, and I'm like, Novi police here, West Bloomfield -- I don't know what's going on."

An investigation is ongoing.
