CLARKSTON (WWJ) - Police were called to an Oakland County middle school after officials reportedly found a threatening note on Friday.

Deputies were called to Clarkston Jr. High School on Waldon Road after staff members found a 'hit list' written on loose-leaf paper on the floor of the cafeteria. According to authorities, the list contained the names of several students at the school.

After a review of the school's surveillance video, they were led to a 13-year-old student "who accidentally dropped the list on the floor from his folder."

Deputies say that the student admitted to writing the list a while ago but had forgotten about it. He told authorities that he "has anger issues and that's what he does when he is mad."

The teen was taken into custody and is being held at Oakland County Children's Village pending a hearing.

Police continue to investigate.
