(WWJ) Criminal charges have been filed against Timothy Anthony-Gabouri Austin of Redford, who is accused of sexually accosting a little boy in a public park.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's office has brought charges of accosting for indecent purposes and indecent exposure charges against Austin after he was caught by police Wednesday evening with the three-year old boy. They were under a bridge near Lola Park in the area of Beech Daly and Five Mile.

If convicted, Austin faces four years in jail.

Th incident unfolded at about 6:47 p.m. Wednesday when Redford police were dispatched to the park regarding an incident that was in progress.  Upon arrival, a Redford police officer observed an empty stroller near a bridge.

Investigation by the officer led to an area under the bridge, where it is alleged that the defendant was accosting the infant.

"It is further alleged that Austin had removed some of his clothing while he was with the child," prosecutors said. The defendant was arrested at the scene. The infant was transported to a local hospital for examination.

The teen is said to have some "developmental issues," according to police; but a 17-year-old is considered an adult under Michigan law.

Police told WWJ's Sandra McNeill that the suspect and the victim were known to each other in some way, although it's not yet clear if they are related. The victim, he added, did not suffer any physical injuries and is in the care of family.
