Teen Runs Away From Robbers With Bullet Lodged In Ankle

INKSTER (WWJ) - Police in Inkster are searching for two suspects who shot and injured a 17-year-old during a robbery attempt in the middle of the night.

The incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Saturday on Chestnut Avenue near Moore Street, in a neighborhood off Inkster Road just south of Michigan Avenue. 

The teenage victim told police he was walking down the street when he was approached by two black men dressed in dark clothing who attempted to rob him. One of the suspects fired a single shot, which struck the victim in the lower leg. 

The victim ran from the scene and was able to call 911. He was transported to a local hospital with a bullet lodged in his ankle.
