DETROIT (WWJ) - There's a hunger and drive that propels entrepreneurs but sometimes that energy can splinter. That appears to be the juncture Tesla's Elon Musk has approached and taking on one of the auto giants in the process.

While conceding his electric-car company is at a "crucial moment in its quest to mass produce the Model 3" and reverse their economic course - the billionaire CEO took a shot at Ford Motor Company when describing the energy of his company telling the Wall Street Journal, “I’m feeling good about things,” he said. “I think there’s a good vibe—I think the energy is good; go to Ford, it looks like a morgue.”

That little quip - buried at the end of the WSJ's article got the attention of .... who else? Ford Motor Company. The VP of Communications, Mark Truby, fired off a reply on Twitter.

"No doubt the vibe is funky in that "makeshift tent," but it's not bad either across the street at the #FordRouge plant where a high quality, high-tech F-150 rolls off the line every 53 seconds around like clockwork." He then directed Musk to "check it out."

Meanwhile, Tesla continues to bang out their sedans on a trio of assembly lines.
