June 19, 2018 - 8:52 am

DETROIT (WWJ) - More than 18,000 DTE Energy customers are without power following overnight thunderstorms rumbling across metro Detroit.

Several areas experiencing outages Tuesday morning, with the biggest clusters being found in Hamtramck and Lincoln Park, each with over 1,700 homes and businesses off the grid.

Other areas with pockets of outages include Ferndale, Dearborn, Warren and several others across Detroit.

DTE Energy says crews are dealing with a combination of downed power lines and equipment issues.

Officials say it will be at least the end of the day before power is restored to those affected areas.
