(WWJ) Military planes will take over the skies above metro Detroit again today, for the second day in a row, to pay tribute to health care workers.

A-10 Thunderbolt jets and KC-135 Stratotankers will be flying over metro Detroit from around 3 p.m. to about 3:30 p.m.

The planes, from the 127th Wing of the Air National Guard at Selfridge will fly over Ascension Providence in Novi at 2:58 and St. Mary Mercy in Livonia at 3 p.m.

The aircraft will also fly over Detroit, Royal Oak, Troy and the Grosse Pointes.  Military leaders say its a way to salute frontline COVID-19 responders.

Yesterday, people lined up along bridges, on porches and backyards to watch the Blue Angels fly a tight formation over Detroit and east side suburbs, a show of solidarity and freedom amid the high anxiety of a pandemic.
