DETROIT (WWJ) - Family members say it's not like him to be out of touch.

Police and family are asking for tips in the case of 49-year-old Larry Melton, who went missing over the weekend.

Melton was last seen Sunday in the18000 block of Bloom where he rents a room with family. He missed work on Sunday and then again on Monday, police say, and no one in the family has heard from him.

Melton's father -- who last spoke with Melton last Friday -- and Melton's son both told police that they usually speak to Melton on a daily basis, and his lack of communication has them worried for his well-being.

Melton is described as a black male with dark skin and a bald head. He is around 5'10'' tall and 225 lbs., has his left ear pierced and a Sagittarius tattoo on his right bicep. Police say he is believed to be in good mental and physical shape.

Anyone who has seen this missing man or who knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Detroit Police Department’s Eleventh Precinct, Investigative Unit at 313-596-1140 or 313-596-1100.
