Triple Digit Temps Strike Metro Detroit -- But What's In Store For The Fourth?

There's good news, and bad

July 03, 2018 - 9:58 am

(WWJ) Meteorologist Dean Devore has good -- and bad -- news for metro Detroit holiday revelers.

Let's get the bad stuff out of the way: Temperatures will continue to be scorching hot, with real feel highs hitting triple digits and humidity that will -- literally -- curl your hair.

On the good side: Your Fourth of July will be mostly dry, and the weather this weekend promises to be the stuff dreams are made of.

As for the bad, at least for those who don't appreciate high heat: Temperatures will move their way toward 90 degrees today, with some areas falling a degree or two short of that.

The humidity will start surging later today and tonight, pushing a possible thunderstorm to pop up to the south of the city. But we'll stay mostly dry today

Tomorrow will be hot and humid again with a high of 91 or 92 degrees. Real feel temperatures on the holiday will rise closer to 100 degrees.

For all those revelers, a thunderstorm could pop up in the evening, but it would be sporadic and brief.

Beyond the holiday, Thursday brings another high in the 90s, with possible showers Thursday night

And the reward for all this greenhouse weather comes Friday when the temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s, with low humidity,

"Saturday and Sunday will be absolutely beautiful, low humidity and sunshine, temperatures both days in the low to mid-80s.
