Truck Nearly Slams Into Church After Crash In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - An accident on Detroit's east side sent a car barreling out of control.

The crash happened early Friday morning along Mound Road at Outer Drive.

According to police, a vehicle traveling southbound on Mound Road ran a red light and was t-boned by a vehicle heading eastbound. 

The force of the impact pushed both vehicles into the northbound lanes, one stopping just short of slamming into the side of a church. 

At least one person was taken to a hospital. Their condition is unknown. 

The crash remains under investigation. 

Northbound Mound Road is down to one lane as police continue to clear the scene.
