Two Charged In Human Trafficking, Prostitution Case

A pair of metro Detroit people are charged with trafficking a woman from Ohio

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A pair of metro Detroit people are charged with multiple felonies in connection to the human trafficking and prostitution on an Ohio woman.

Lorenzo Darrell Hatcher, 25, of Hamtramck, and 21-year-old Lamyia Leshia-Pamela Sneed, of St. Clair Shores, were charged on June 6 in 36th district court for the alleged incident.

Hatcher allegedly engaged in the kidnapping, assaulting and human trafficking of a 20-year-old woman from Columbus, Ohio. Sneed, meanwhile is alleged to have committed the crime of prostitution by transporting, facilitating and accepting earnings in connection with the victim.

Prosecutors say the two carried out the crimes between late March and early June and say the woman was kidnapped in the 1100 block of Stockwell in Detroit.

Hatcher is facing 10 charges, including four human trafficking charges, three charges related to prostitution, kidnapping, Felonious Assault, and Felony Firearm.

Sneed has been charged with Prostitution – Sell/Offer/Facilitate, Prostitution – Accepting Earnings, Prostitution – Transporting Female*.

Both defendants were arraigned in 36th District Court before Magistrate Jeffrey Kleparek last Thursday and the court waited until Monday to announce the information, as aspects of the case were still under review last week.

Probable cause conferences are scheduled for June 20, and preliminary examinations are on June 29, both before Judge Lydia Nance Adams.

Hatcher received a $500,000 cash/surety bond, while Sneed received one for $250,000.
