Two Serial Home Invasion Suspects In Custody

Two Detroit men allegedly broke into homes across three counties.

DETROIT (WWJ) - A pair of serial home invasion suspects are in custody after allegedly breaking into residences in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.

52-year-old Harlan Spight of Detroit was arrested on April 2 in connection to a home invasion along Eastwood Drive in Harper Woods that took place on March 28. He and a second suspect were spotted fleeing the scene in a small silver SUV after allegedly stealing jewelry, credit cards and a firearm.

Detectives were then able to execute search warrants on four homes in the city and recovered numerous other stolen items. Spight is facing nine charges, including four counts of identity theft, and two counts of home invasion. If convicted, Spight faces up to life in prison. Bond was set at $100,000 cash for Spight.

Police were able to identify the second man as a 45-year-old from Detroit, though his identity has not yet been released. He is facing similar charges.
