DETROIT (WWJ) - For years, the abandoned Michigan Central Station beamed a signal around the world of Detroit's decline. Over the next few years it will be transformed by Ford Motor Company which bought and has plans to renovate the crumbling building --  and will be looking for restaurants and shops to locate in the revamped Grand Hall.

Before renovations get underway, the public will be able to get a rare, guided glimpse inside as Ford offers free tours this weekend -- and WWJ AutoBeat Reporter Jeff Gilbert got an early look:

Want to see it for yourself? Get more information about the Open House planned for Friday, June 22 – Sunday, June 24, at this link

Renovations are expected to be completed in 2022.
