(WWJ) A "weak" tornado did some damage when it touched down in Mid-Michigan Thursday night.

According to the National Weather Service, the twister hit near in the Shiawasee County village just south of New Lothrop, which is northwest of Flint, just after 9:30 p.m.

The Shiawassee County Emergency Management Office said two barns were damaged or destroyed, two garages were damaged and multiple trees were downed in the area.

Rich Pollman, with the NWS in Detroit, said the tornado was only on the ground for a couple of minutes and no one was injured.  A storm survey is expected to be issued by the NWS a little later with more information.

The tornado came as a line of storms blew across the state.

WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson says we're looking at better weather Friday, with some sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 70s.
