Woman, Car Pulled From Water At St. Clair Shores Marina

June 20, 2019 - 4:18 pm

ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - Emergency responders were called out to rescue a driver who, along with her vehicle, ended up in the water at a Lake St. Clair marina.

No one was injured in the incident a little after noon Thursday at Colony Marine, along Jefferson Ave. between 9 and 10 Mile Roads, in St. Clair Shores.

St. Clair Shores police said the woman was driving near the canals when she lost control of her car, then driving into a hoist well.

Police and the Macomb County Sheriff's Marine Division and tow trucks came to the scene to assist; successfully pulling both the woman and her car out of the water.

Asked if the woman was distracted or why else she may have lost control of her vehicle, police told WWJ Newsradio 950's Jon Hewett she apparently "became confused."

The woman's name and age were not released.
