Woman Charged In Hit-And-Run Crash With Teen On Bike
CANTON (WWJ) - A 64-year-old woman who allegedly fled the scene after striking a boy who was riding his bike is facing criminal charges.
Zeina Diab Elhage was arraigned Tuesday in connection with the crash, which happened around 5:30 p.m. December 5 along Canton Center Road, south of Palmer Road.
Police say Elhage ran into the 15-year-old boy with her Ford Edge, then continued driving away from the scene without stopping.
The teen was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Elhage is charged with failure to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident, a one-year misdemeanor, and failure to report an accident, a 90-day misdemeanor. She received a personal bond and is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on January 11.
