Woman Wanted For Identity Theft, Fraud May Be In St. Clair Shores Area

ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - Authorities are asking for tips to find a woman who allegedly stole from and exploited and elderly metro Detroiter. 

According to Crime Stoppers, 46-year-old Ellissa Pedersen was hired to assist the victim with housework in the fall of 2018. She stole and pawned the victim’s jewelry as well as opened fraudulent credit cards using the victim’s information running up bills totaling thousands of dollars.

She's wanted on charges of exploitation of the elderly, fraudulent use of credit card, fraud and criminal use of personal identification information of an individual 60 years or older.

Police believe she may be in the St. Clair Shores area.

A cash reward of up to $1,000 is available to the person whose tips leads to an arrest in this case. 

Anyone with information about Pedersen's whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587). Tips may also be submitted texting CSM and the tip to CRIMES (2746370). 

As always, tipsters may stay 100 percent anonymous, will not be asked their names, to speak to police or to testify in court.
