7-Year-Old Boy Struck By Gunfire During Drive-By Shooting In Detroit

The boy was inside his family's home.

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A young boy was struck by a bullet during a drive-by shooting on Detroit's east side Saturday night.

Police confirmed to WWJ that a seven-year-old boy was inside his home in the 13000 block of Flanders Street near Chalmers Street when gunfire erupted.

Police said the boy was shot in the left leg and was taken to a hospital in temporary serious condition.

No suspect or vehicle description was given. There is no report on what led to the gunfire.
