Dr. Deanna Lites


Deanna Lites is an award-winning health reporter at WWJ Newsradio 950 with more than 20 years of broadcast experience. Lites was the medical reporter for WFOR the CBS television station in Miami, WMAQ the NBC television station in Chicago and WHDH the NBC television station in Boston. She was also a contributing reporter for NBC News Channel, the affiliate news service for more than 200 NBC television stations nationwide. In addition, she has done corporate video and voice over work for companies such as Pfizer and CVS. Lites has also contributed to AMBASSADOR, BOSTON COMMON and WOMEN’S WORLD magazines. Lites has received multiple awards and honors for her reporting including six Emmy Award nominations, a Michigan Association of Broadcaster award, two American Heart Association awards, the media award from Miami-Dade Health Department, the Florida Hospital Association’s Jack Hardy Communicator of the Year for the state and an American Cancer Society Woman of the Year award. She also received an Associated Press award for her radio feature ‘YOUR EYE ON HEALTH.’ Lites holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from Michigan State University and earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. She completed a podiatric surgical residency at Phoenix Community Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. In addition, she has been a frequent speaker on healthcare and the media, been a moderator for numerous healthcare forums such as the Michigan Diversity Council, the Detroit Economic Club and The STEMinista Project at the Michigan Science Center and served as host for many charitable events including the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and Go Red for Women.
