Ed Coury has been in radio news since he was 19, when he began working for a public radio station in his native Pittsburgh. Since then, he has worked as a correspondent and in news management at places like the NBC and UPI radio networks, the Associated Press, and WWJ, where he was an anchor/reporter and Assistant Director of News and Programming. He has been honored with dozens of awards over the years, including an AP award for best news reporting in Detroit. Currently, with the Bloomberg Business Report, Ed Coury is a former Senior Editor and Midwest Bureau Chief for the Wall Street Journal Radio Network, Dow Jones & Company. In his spare time, Ed is a musician and enjoys playing occaisionally in local cover bands. He also designs and maintains web sites. A member of Southeast Michigan MENSA. Ed is a former officer with the U.S. Civil Air Patrol, served as an auxiliary officer with the Ohio Highway Patrol, and trained as an EMT. His hobbies include music, shortwave radio, comedy and computers. Ed holds a Master of Business Administration degree, and was the recipient of a gold Medallion for Academic Excellence. He was also awarded the Cleary University Board of Trustees’ Entrepreneur Award. Ed’s wife Beth Fisher is a reporter and anchor for WWJ. They have two children, and a golden retriever named Sasha.
